Shamrock

Our family has enjoyed restauranting since the 1930's. 'Mom' and Allen Fitz owned and operated Fitzgerald's in Emmitsburg until 1941. It was located on Flat Run and was the home of many walk-a-thons, lots of good food and warm hospitality.

Their son, Donald 'Mike', and his wife Doris bought this restaurant in 1963 and with the help of 'Mom' Fitz laid the foundation for the Shamrock as it is today. Because of Mike's insistence on freshness and quality, 4:00 AM trips to Baltimore's fish and produce markets became an institution.

In 1975, unknown to Mike, his daughters entered the Shamrock in a national contest for Best St. Patrick's Day Party In The Nation, sponsored by Boyle's Corned Beef Company. What a surprise when they presented him with the grand prize - A trip to Ireland!

In 1971 the comings and goings of the Shamrock Restaurant were proudly handed over by Mike and Doris Fitzgerald to their eldest daughter Donna Fitzgerald Demmon. Through Donna's management capabilities along with traveling experiences Donna has made it possible for you to enjoy Numerous Traditional Irish Entress, Desserts, cocktails, gifts and of course " Atmoshphere" at the Shamrock Restaurant.

Still a family run business with 8 out of 9 of Mike and Doris's children living locally ~ on any given day you will find the Fitzgerald children and Grandchildren hard at work. From Welcoming you at the Front door, preparing your favorite entree or serving you in our Dining Room keeping the Shamrock Restaurant running as it has for the past 45 years.

Shamrock Restaurant is open 7 days a week ~ along with our Main Menu we also offer Daily Lunch Specials, Daily Evening Specials including Prime Rib on Wednesdays ~ and our Weekend Specials offered Friday thru Sunday

Shamrock also features the Blarney Room Lounge, a relaxing pub style bar for gathering with your friends, or just relaxing after a long day.
